Recently, the European Council of quality of medicines and health care (EDQM) has released the second edition of its technical guide“Metals and alloys in food contact materials and products”, the guidelines supplement European Council Resolution CM/RES (2020)9 and aim to ensure the safety of metal and alloy products of food contact materials (FCM) to protect the health of consumers. Compared with the previous version of the Technical Guide, the new version of the guide is mainly updated in three aspects:1、 Definitions, ranges, and specific release limits (SRLs) of metals，2、Security reviews and recommendations、3、Method for analysis of release testing of food contact materials and products made of metals and alloys
