On December 16, 2024, the Saudi authorities announced again and organized an online meeting to emphasize that on January 1 2025, Saudi SASO will enforce the unified SASO 2870, SASO 2902, and SASO 927 test report formats!
In July 2024, the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) will unify the SASO 2870,O 2902, and SASO 2927 test report formats for lighting laboratories. The adoption is voluntary in July 202 and will be mandatory from January 1, 2025! The unification of the report format aims to standardize reports, enhance the accuracy and of data, improve communication, simplify SASO's review and approval processes, and ensure product compliance.
Starting from January 1, 2025, all SASO authorized lighting testing laboratories must use the new template to submit reports for SAS 2870, SASO 2902, and SASO 2927 standards on the system. Otherwise, the applications will rejected by the SASO authorities.
The report in the new format mainly includes the following parts:
1.Report contents: chapter titles and page numbers.
2. Stakeholder Information: This section includes laboratory information, manufacturer information, factory information, applicant information, and report information.
3. Product Information: This section includes basic product information, control device information, test values, and product photos.
4. Reference Standards: This section requires ticking the testing standards used for the product.
5. Testing Equipment: This section should list the names, brands, models, and purposes of the equipment used during the testing process
6. Test Results: This section needs to summarize the relevant test results for different samples.
7. Report Description: This part belongs to the laboratory conclusion, mainly describing whether the test is compliant and meets the standard requirements.
