On April 3, the national recognition and Supervision Commission issued a public announcement, stating that for products with lighting functions of electric clothes drying racks, if the structure of the lighting part conforms to the description of“Luminaire” in the catalogue description and definition table of compulsory product certification, the product or its lighting part (which can work independently) shall meet the requirements of the implementation rules of CCC certification for lighting appliances and obtain the CCC certification for lighting appliances. 

Recently, the Commission has received many inquiries from local market regulators, manufacturers and consumers on whether electric clothes-drying racks with lighting functions fall within the scope of the mandatory product certification (CCC) , in order to carry out CCC certification and law enforcement work more effectively, protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and production enterprises, and create a good environment for consumption and business, now the product CCC certification requirements of electric clothes drying rack with lighting function are clear as follows:

1. The CCC certification catalogue clearly includes“Lighting appliances”. For products with lighting function, such as lighting part of the structure in accordance with the“Mandatory product certification catalogue description and definition table” of“Lamps” description, the product or its lighting part (which can work independently) shall meet the requirements of the implementation rules of CCC certification for lighting appliances and obtain the CCC certification for lighting appliances.

2. Considering that the product with lighting function of the electric clothes-drying rack is a new form of drying product, the relevant parties' understanding of the CCC certification requirements of the product is not clear, local Market Supervision departments and designated certification bodies, laboratories in the above-mentioned product law enforcement and certification and testing, should strengthen publicity, urging enterprises to apply for certification as soon as possible; Relevant manufacturing enterprises should promptly apply for CCC certification and obtain certification before December 31 of the 2024. Starting from January 1,2025, the above-mentioned products without the required CCC certification may not be manufactured, sold, imported or used in other business activities.
