      As a major global producer and consumer of footwear and luggage, China has continuously improved its product safety and environmental regulatory system in recent years, establishing a full-chain governance network centred on mandatory national standards and supplemented by recommended standards. Effective June 1, 2024, mandatory national standards including General Safety Requirements for Footwear and Safety Technical Specification for Children’s Footwear were officially implemented, imposing stricter requirements on footwear products, which must also comply with corresponding product standards. For luggage products, industry standards serve as the foundation, while special categories such as children’s luggage have dedicated standards detailing safety specifications.
