      Laws and regulations applicable to apparel and textile products in China include the Product Quality Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Import and Export Commodity Inspection Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementing regulations, the Standardization Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementing regulations, as well as supporting rules issued by relevant authorities.

      In accordance with the Standardization Law of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese standards are classified by nature into mandatory standards and recommended standards. Most recommended standards are technical specifications, while mandatory standards carry legal effect. Before apparel and textile products can be sold in the Chinese market, they shall comply not only with relevant mandatory standards but also with the explicitly stated product standards.
