GCC Certification (G‑Mark / GCTS) is administered by the Gulf Standards Organization (GSO). It is a regional mandatory product certification covering the seven member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen. It aims to unify product safety standards across the Gulf region, protect consumer personal safety and remove technical barriers to trade among member countries. Products holding a G‑Mark certificate can be circulated and sold in all seven GCC member states.

      Under GSO regulations, products within the mandatory scope must complete GCTS registration. The G‑Mark logo together with the GCTS QR code shall be permanently marked on the product itself and outer packaging before the goods can be placed on the market of GCC member states.

      Saudi Arabia is a GCC member state. A G‑Mark certificate can be directly used for PCoC registration on Saudi Arabia’s SABER platform to avoid redundant testing. However, the G‑Mark certificate cannot serve directly as a Saudi customs clearance document. Exports to Saudi still require SABER certificates.

Product Scope

Two categories of products fall under mandatory control:

      1. Low-voltage electrical products (AC 50–1000V, DC 75–1500V): refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, fans, microwave ovens, water heaters, plugs and sockets, extension sockets, chargers and other household electrical appliances.

      2. Children’s toys: must fully comply with Gulf toy regulations covering mechanical, physical, chemical, flammability and electrical safety requirements.

      Electronic and household appliances not listed in the mandatory scope may apply for G‑Mark on a voluntary basis.

Application Process

      1. The product is tested for safety and EMC at an ILAC‑ISO17025 accredited laboratory. A valid CB certificate may be used for differential testing.

      2. Submit test reports and product documentation to a GSO-notified body.

      3. The notified body reviews the documents, completes registration in the GSO database and issues the G‑Mark (GCTS) certificate.

      4. The G‑Mark logo and official GCTS verification QR code shall be permanently marked on the product and outer packaging. Adhesive stickers are not acceptable.

      5. For goods exported to Saudi Arabia, use the G‑Mark certificate to apply for the PCoC product certificate on the SABER platform, then apply for the SCoC shipment clearance certificate for customs clearance.

Certification Mark

      G‑Mark logo. It must be permanently engraved/marked on the product and outer packaging; adhesive labels are prohibited. The official GCTS verification QR code is required alongside the mark.
